Western Digital 640 HD My Book Home Edition (USB/eSATA/Firewire 400) for backups $145 from JB Hifi – Dunno if it’s just me but SLOW SLOW SLOW, which in the grand scheme of things speed really isn’t that important as I bought it for data backup. I haven’t tried the eSATA, but the Firewire didn’t really seem any faster than the USB. Not using software supplied with it as that doesn’t allow you to schedule backups so using Cobian backup instead.
In order to close any OutLook sessions, so that the associated pst file would be backed up, a script it run as a Pre Event. The script executes;
taskkill /f /im outlook.exe
